Design Capabilities

ESPM have an experienced team of electrical engineers that can design electrical installations from single circuits to medium sized installations. Using current Amtech Design Software we can produce designs which reflect the clients requirements in to an industry standard format. Designs will be issued in pdf format and will be covered by our Design Liability Insurance.

Consultancy and Electrical Advisory Roles

ESPM can offer a consultancy/advisory role to assist clients in electrical disputes or with projects without the need to employ full time engineers. We can work alongside existing electrical engineers to help achieve targets as and when required.

Descrimination Surveys

ESPM have an experienced team of engineers that can survey the electrical distribution and sub main circuits of an installation to identify if the protective devices throughout the system will disconnect in the correct sequence. If an installation has incorrect descrimination between the protective devices, a fuse blowing in a final circuit could actually trip the main incoming protective device therefore creating a situation where the entire building has lost power. Using the latest design software, the data can be inputted and checked to see where potential failures are hidden. This is essential in buildings which have circuits supplying critical equipment such as in the medical and telecommunication environment

The descrimination study below shows a system that has its protective devices set correctly so that in case of a fault at any point in the installation, the protective device immediately upstream will disconnect.

The descrimination study below shows a system that has its protective devices set incorrectly. In this instance, a fault in a point mid installation could bypass the protective device immediately upstream and disconnect the protective device at origin. This could be catastrophic in certain medical or highly important industrial installations.

Electrical Schematic and As Fitted Auto Cad Drawings

Using the latest versions of Auto Cad, drawings can be produced to reflect the design and as fitted status on completion of the works.

A typical electrical schematic showing sub main circuits from origin to include cable sizes and type of cable. Distribution Boards show final circuit designations along with protective device sizes. There is sufficient information to enable future additions to be easily designed.
